1. What do I get when I subscribe fully?

One unique album per month, recorded at Real World Studios especially for the Society of Sound together with artwork and instructions on how to download and burn a CD. The music is delivered as a full bit rate, lossless file (either 16-bit ALAC, FLAC or 24-bit FLAC). You will also receive bonus recordings and access to our back catalogue. Log in here.

2. What is the difference between the formats and which should I choose?

6. What do I do when my trial runs out if I do want to subscribe?

8. Can I access albums from previous months?

9. Will they be released elsewhere?

This is down to each individual artist and/or their label if they have one. It's worth checking their site and contacting them directly. Links, where applicable, are available on The Music page.

10. What am I legally allowed to do with the albums? Can I share them, copy them, burn them etc?

We highly recommend you burn them onto a CD for your personal use. You can also store them on your computer or your portable media player.

11. I only received one track, but I was expecting a full album.

If you have signed up to the free trial, you will only receive one track each month as well as a free compilation album. In order to receive the full album plus other bonuses you will need to sign up for either a six or twelve month membership.

12. Can I buy individual albums?

No. Society of Sound Music is a subscription club, you invest in us and we invest in the artist. The minimum you can subscribe for is 6 months. If you want to get a preview of what Society of Sound Music offers you can subscribe to our free trial and receive a free compilation album as well as two free tracks a month.

13. Can I buy individual tracks from the albums?

No. You can join on a 3 month trial basis and have access to one track we select for each of those months plus a bonus compilation album of previous music.

Each artist has their own page within the Society of Sound This has a biography, photographs, podcasts and short films. There are also links to the artist's own site where applicable.

16. How do I cancel my subscription?

Once you have subscribed, you have commited to either 6 or 12 months membership. You will not be billed for a subsequent subscription unless you choose to take one out.

Yes, though we recommend burning to CD and listening on a hi-fi system to fully benefit from the high sound quality.

20. I can't see how to change my password

Click on 'Update My Details' at the bottom of the page. You will first be asked for your email. Once you input your address, you will then be presented with a dialogue that asks your email and your password. To the left of this dialogue box there is a hyperlink marked 'change your password'

The subscription to Society of Sound Music is a one-off payment and your billing details are not stored on our system.

25. How can I get involved in Society of Sound Music?

We are always on the lookout for upcoming and established artists who are interested in releasing their music through our innovative new service. Please send a link to a site where your tracks can be streamed (i.e. Myspace page) to sos@bwgroup.com and we will pass them on to Real World.
